Hi Vijay,
I’ve been meaning to tell you how happy I was with my results using Royal Lac on my last batch of instruments. Here are some photos from my Facebook
page:

I love how clear the finish is, and the blonde seems to have just the right amount of color for me (I did also add a bit of color to the sealer coats to give the binding a bit of amber tint). The finish is a little more chippy than I expected, but I think that’s okay, and it’s probably similar to lacquer in that regard. I know it’s always a tradeoff between chippiness, durability, toughness, etc. I had one little chip on one instrument that I repair with cyanoacrylate, and that worked quite well and is nearly invisible.
I’ve had a lot of people ask what artificial resin(s) are in it– is that something you’re willing to share, or is it proprietary?
I’d still love to try the post-cat version when you have some to test.
Thanks again!
